The museum showcases Walter Scott's idea, the diner. He built his first diner out of a horse-drawn wagon in 1872. The general purpose of the museum is to pay tribute to those who built, operated and worked in diners, both in the past and present. The museum is a non-profit organization. Many events take place at the museum.
This is the only museum in the area designed for families and children. Learn while having a good time, enjoy hands-on exhibits and programs that deal with arts, culture, history and science. Exhibits are available for children aged 1 through 11. The museum is in parternship with many schools and organizations.
